Partnerships/Collabrations

Each project undertaken by GHP will involve unique partnerships, collaborations and mobilization by a wide variety of actors. Initial collaborators for GHP’s first project include:

  • Yale University’s Orville H. Schell, Jr. Center for International Human Rights Law.
  • McGill University’s:
      • Faculty of Education
      • Institute for Integrated Management and
      • Centre for Human Rights and Legal Pluralism
  • The Canadian Museum for Human Rights: One of the world’s preeminent human rights museums helping develop both the project’s content and curriculum.  

The project is has reached out to more than 200 development, peace and justice, human rights and activist groups, as well as UN agencies funds and programmes, globallyin order to help test and/or finalize  project design. In addition to these practitioner partners, the project has consulted with, both formally or informally, advisors representing a variety of institutions. These advisors include:

  • A former UN Assistant Secretary-General for Human Rights, and
  • Human rights affiliated academics from Yale University, McGill University, University of Glasgow, University of Ottawa, the City University of New York, the International Education Development Program at Teachers College of Columbia University, Duke University, Utrecht University and Oxford University
  • Former heads of human rights commissions in Africa and Asia
